Profiling Syed Bulbul Shah rahimahumullah

The preacher among the preachers of Islam in Kashmir is believed to be Hazrat Syed Sharaf-ud- DIN Abdul Rahman (RA), popularly known as Syed Bulbul Shah (RA). He is believed to have touched the threshold of Kashmir during the reign of Suhadeva (1301-20). He was an extensively travelled preacher. He had deeply impressed the people of Kashmir by his manner of preaching and persuasion at a time when people were passing through a period of political instability, heavy taxation and crushing burdens of feudalism. All the historians are united upon the fact that Hazrat Bulbul Shah (RA) was the first saint who sowed the seeds of Islam in Kashmir. The historians have been reserved over the pedigree of the saint and some believe that he had come from Samarqand and some state that he was from Bukhara. But the majority of them believe that he was from Turkistan. They believe that Hazrat Sharaf- ud- Din (RA) was neither a king nor a soldier, nor a businessman but he was only a virtuous and great saint who possessed spiritual prowess and holiness. He came to Kashmir with the instructive power of Prophet (SAW) and enlightened the whole milieu. Different beliefs about the actual birth of Hazrat Abdul Rahman or Sharaf –ud- Din (RA) alias Hazrat Bulbul Shah (RA) have been promulgated. Some schools of thought believe that he belonged to Samarqand and some believe that he was a saintly celeb from Bukhara. There are also others who believe that he belonged to Turkistani or Central Asia. But the majority of people are united on the idea that he emerged from Turkistan and that is why the suffix of ‘Turkistani’ is found with the name of the great saint. Hazrat Bulbul Shah (RA) has been given several names and titles by the Kashmiri authors. Jonaraja, the historian, is reserved about the name of the saint. The author of the “Baharistan-i- Shahi “ states that on asking the name by the King or others, the holy saint introduced his name as Bulbul Qalandar and uttered that he was a Muslim. Muhammad Azam in his “Tarikh-i- Kashmir” has introduced him as Baba Bulbul Shah (RA). Another author Rafi-ud- Din in his “Nawadir-ul- Akhbar” calls him as Sayed Sharaf-ud- Din. Baba Dawood Mishkati in his “Asrar-ul- Abrar” mentions him as Hazrat Baba Bilal. Peer Ghulam Hassan Khuihami in his “Tarikh-i- Kashmir” claims that his real name was Hazrat Sayed Sharaf-ud- Din (RA). Some other writers mention him as Sayed Sharaf-ud- Din Abdur Rahman Turkistani. In the land of Kashmir he became much popular as Bulbul Shah (RA) because it is believed by different writers and spiritual scholars particularly by Baba Ali Raina of Tujar Sharief, the brother and special disciple of Sheikh Hamza Makhdom (RA), who writes in his book Tazkarat- ul- Aarifeen that “One day Hazrat Syed Sharaf- ud- Din (RA) was about to make ablution on the bank of a stream or canal. All of sudden he sighted a Bulbul (Bird) on the branch of a tree singing beautifully and impressively and then suddenly the bird flew towards the sky. Hazrat Bulbul Shah also flew after the bird and caught hold of the bird and flew down into his cottage and then the bird got was vanished in his august hands. One acquaintance present at the time, asked the saint about the whole episode and the saint replied that the bird was not a bird but it was his soul which was flying towards the sky and he followed it and caught hold of his own soul.” This episode with the saint got publicized and therefore, he came to be known as Hazrat Bulbul Shah (RA). After the King Rinchena embraced Islam as his religion, his mentor and guide entitled him as Shaha and he became prominent as Sultan Rinchena Shah, the first Muslim King of Kashmir. Since the King was influenced by the spiritual powers of the saint Hazrat Bulbul Shah (RA), he got constructed a Khankah or a cloister for his convertor near his palace in Srinagar. In order to keep other followers or Dervishes at ease, the King constructed quarters, where the food was served to them. The place at which the Khankah of Bulbul Shah (RA) was built came to be known as Bulbul Lankar during the rule of Chak dynasty, which endowed the spiritual followers and other disciples with free ration and other necessary items. The Sultan Rinchena Shah also constructed a mosque for the great saint and would present himself on Fridays before him for moral and spiritual salvation. It is important to mention that due to the much conversions among the Hindus, there grew a terrible animosity against the King Rinchena Shah. A conspiracy was hatched against him under the command of Udayanadeva in the royal palace. Fortunately, the Ladakhi security guards of the Sultan repulsed their attack on the King and made them to flee. Some of the conspirators were killed and some were imprisoned and punished. In 1323, Sultan Rinchena Shah fell ill and passed away after ruling for more than three years. Hazrat Bulbul Shah (RA) took the heavenly flight from this world in 727 AH e.g, in 1327 AD.The saint is remembered as one of the most prominent saints of Kashmir, who marshaled an Islamic revolution in Kashmir.

Amazing Poem by Qazi Imam Yousuf bin Ismael Nab'hani(rehimahumullah)

I am the slave of the Master of Prophets ﷺ And my fealty to him ﷺ has no beginning. I am a slave of his ﷺ slave, and of his ﷺ slave’s slave, And so forth endlessly, For I do not cease to approach the door Of his ﷺ good pleasure among the beginners. I proclaim among people the teaching of his high ﷺ attributes, And sing his ﷺ praises among the poets. Perhaps he ﷺ shall tell me: “You are a noted friend Of mine, a truly excellent beautifier of my tribute.” Yes, I would sacrifice my soul for the dust of his ﷺ sanctuary. His ﷺ favour should be that he ﷺ accept my sacrifice. He ﷺ has triumphed who ascribes himself to him ﷺ - Not that he ﷺ needs such following, For he ﷺ is not in need of creation at all, While they all need him without exception. He ﷺ belongs to Allah alone, Whose purified servant he ﷺ is, As his ﷺ attributes and names have made manifest; And every single favour in creation comes from Allah To him ﷺ and from him ﷺ to everything else ~ Imam Yusuf Nabhani Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alaihi ﷺ From Sa‘adat al-darayn fi al-salat ‘ala Sayyid al-kawnayn (The Bliss of the Two Abodes in the Invocation of Blessings on the Master of the Two Universes)

Poem in Praise Of Nalayne Pak

Upon this universe’s head is the sandal of Muhammad It has ascended, thus all of creation is beneath its silhouette At Tur Musa was addressed with “Cast off” whereas Ahmad Despite proximity wasn’t directed to remove his sandals A likeness representing a sandal of the noblest of prophetic messengers Wishing for the place of its dust are the loftiest stars As co-wives to it, are all the seven heavens altogether Jealous and envious, as are the crowns of kings The likeness of the sandal of the Chosen one; it has no parity For my soul it is solace, for my eye antimony How noble it is! An impression of a revered sandal For it, every head wishes it was a foot Since I realised the passage of time wages war on mortals I made for myself its master’s sandal a stronghold I fortified myself in its wonderful likeness In an impenetrable enclosure I attained in its shade, safety Verily I have served the likeness of the Chosen One’s sandal That I live in both worlds beneath its shade Ibn Mas’ud became felicitous by serving his sandal And I am felicitous by my serving its likeness Upon this universe’s head is the sandal of Muhammad (Allah bless him and grant him peace) - Imam Yusuf al-Nabahani rahimahu Llah -

This is a proven du`â for succor and deliverance from distress and affliction. When he recited this du`â, Allâh delivered him from his distress. Ibn `Abidîn and others have mentioned that they tried this du`â and Allâh gave them relief and aid. I've tried it and Allâh has given me relief too. Many of our brothers have informed me that they've tried it too and found succor. I have mentioned other benefits of this Salât in my book `afDlus Salawât, `alâ sayyidis sâdât'; one may look up there if he wishes more."

Beautiful Poem in Praise of Beloved of ALLAH (salallahu'alay'he'wa'sallam)

"Can you imagine one who was the gentlest of men while being the most brave and just of all who've been one who conquered all desires of self that make men weak who granted all who asked him precisely what they seek whom only jewels poured out his mouth whenever he would speak who was the gem amongst the stones of men who shined unique a selflessness and generosity that some would say was merely myth until they'd seen one of the lovers of his way who used to mend his sandals, used to patch his clothes who used to serve his family whenever he was home who had a noble shyness, not gazing long upon a face who honored all he ever met, be he king or be he slave who always felt himself at home the most among the poor who never angered for himself but only for his Lord always just, always truthful, conscious of the One even if it brought discomfort to himself and those he loved" - Excerpt from "Beloved" by Baraka Blue [VIDEO - Full Poem: www.youtube.com / watch?v=5xuGWvdh CmQ]

Gems from taraweeh Tafseer reflections

"And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him is [due] worship constantly. Then is it other than Allah that you fear?" "And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah . Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help." (16:53) Do you have taqwa (God consciousness) of other than Allah, despite having n’ama (blessings) from Him? It’s a strange question in a sense. Someone has given you everything. Everything you have is what He gave you. Then you turn and you are thankful and then you have taqwa (God consciousness) of other than Him? Allah is saying what’s wrong with you? How do you judge? Therefore, this Deen (religion) is founded on two things: Love and Gratitude. Yet gratitude is more important! The first that you say in the Qur’an is Al hamdi lillahi Rab El Alamein. He Subhanahu wa Ta’ala is teaching you gratitude. With love, there is always something in return. The human being is not used to giving love without receiving love. Therefore, if you love people, they always question: Do you really love me? When you love there is always an expectation for love in return, but when you are thankful, there is no expectation for ‘thank you for thanking me’. When you thank, it is passive. There is no self, no nafs (self, psyche, ego or soul). You see the nafs is the whole problem. People live a hundred years and they are still dealing with their nafs. The Nafs isn’t going to go with you until you die. Only the Anbiya alayhum el salam (Prophets), the big Sahaba (companions), and the Awliya (saints) can overcome their nafs, but the nafs is going to kill you. When you love, there is something in the nafs for it. But when there’s gratitude, there’s passiveness. You’re just giving. All the na’ama (blessings) you have is from Allah. Why do you go about thanking others? Why do you go about recognizing others? Why do you go about looking good in front of everyone else other than Him? When you dress to go to some XYZ party, but when you come to masjid of Allah then ‘whatever I have is okay’. When you go to people with high SES (social economic level), you make sure you watch what you say because you want to display your best adab, but how come when we come to house of Allah we don’t display the best adab? You’re in His home and you are His guest. Isn’t He worthy of your best adab in His house? Isn’t He worthy of your best words in His house? Isn’t He worthy of your best behavior in His house? Isn’t He worthy of your heart in His house? Because if you don’t give Him your heart in His house, where else are you going to give it to Him? Allah is reminding you in this Ayah that all the na’ama (blessings) that you have is from Allah. Every single n’ama (blessing) no matter what it is, it is from Him. Recognize that! You cannot reward Him for what He gave you. All He wants you to do is recognize that He gave you that na’ama from your heart. When say “Al hamdi lillah”, it ought to have a different feeling. You are truly in the state of gratitude and thankfulness to Him, at least with your heart. Allah says if you are thankful to Him, He will give you more. He doesn’t need our worship, He doesn’t need our salah (prayer), siyam (fasting), qiyam (night prayer), all that stuff! He doesn’t need all that. Even if a deed is really good and eligible for acceptance, He doesn’t need it. He just wants you to be thankful to Him. Be thankful and don’t turn your Deen into rituals." - Sayyidi Shaykh Dr. Muhammad bin Yahya al-Husayni al-Ninowy

Pearls of Wisdom By Shaykh Abul-hudaa Al-Yaqoubi

“ Islam encourages love. Love is not empty, like how it is taken in the western world. Love is an inclination of the heart to what it naturally desires. Love is so cheap now in the western world. Love in Islam is Divine, it comes from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.” — Shaykh Muhammad al Yaqoubi “ Some people seek fame, others seek to be unknown and hidden. The best are those who seek Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala” —Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi “ If we asked what is the most circulating book any human being ever wrote on the face of the earth, what is the best seller in the Islamic world, a hundred years ago the answer wouldn’t be Sahih Bukhari because Sahih Bukhari is for the ‘ulema. The answer would be Dalail ul Khayrat.” — Shaykh Muhammad al Yaqoubi (hafidhahullah ta’ala) “ Wear old clothes when you visit poor people then you do not break their hearts by showing them things they cannot buy” — Shaykh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi (Hafidhullah) “Everything that hurts a believer is a calamity. Tests are like gold. You test gold in fire to test if it’s real, test it’s substance. That is the true nature of calamities- to test you. Allah knows your state before and after the test. Your test is for you to learn and others around you. Most of our actions are reactions- control your reaction.” (Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi) Don’t waste your tears on your broken relationship with someone you love, invest your tears to strengthen your relationship with Allāh ﷻ Shaykh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi “ Sing and repeat for me the name of my Beloved and let everyone in this universe throw their arrows at me… I don’t care, even if they hit my heart because nothing causes me any harm with the name of my Beloved.” — Prophetic Miracles - Shaykh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi “ When your heart becomes full of light it becomes transparent like a crystal.” —Shaykh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi “ Most of the causes of anger today is due to misunderstandings. Someone did something or said something and you thought they did it deliberately. Shaytan puts these thoughts in your mind. The first remedy for anger the Prophet (Sal Allahu Alayhi Wasalam) taught us was to seek refuge from Shaytan” — Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi “ I love Him whatever His Decree brings, My principle in love is being always pleased with Allah. Take this passion from me, soar and fly through space.” — From the poem “My Spiritual Journey”, by, Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi. “ Maintaining our health is an act of worship and curing ourselves is an obligation and looking at what we eat is following the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (SalAllahuAlayhiwasalam)” — Shaykh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi “ Sufis do not make revolutions. They do not carry weapons or explosives. Sufis build civilisations…” — Shaykh Muhammad al-Ya’qoubi “ It’s an easy thing to claim, but difficult to prove because real love manifests itself in actions, not in words.” — Shaykh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi “ We defeated the world 1400 years ago not because of how strong we were, but because of how merciful we were…” — Shaykh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi “ Our words are divine gifts Our silence is merely a cover Our door is open for anyone Who is heading for this Quarter. Our tastes are delicacies. Our secrets are attributed to the Essence . Our moves when we shake. May wake the dead in this Quarter.” —Reality of His UnityShaykh Sayyid Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi “ We have four pillars of tassawuf – seclusion, staying up the night, hunger and silence. These are the pillars of suluk and wilayah.” — Shaykh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi “ The moment you give bay’ah to a Shaykh, your spiritual rizq is from the Shaykh and his tariqa” —Shaykh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi. Knowledge is in the heart’s of people, not in pages of books.

Last Words of Nabi Kareem(salallahu'allay'he'wa'sallam)

Read it, Once !! Suddenly, there was a person, he said salaam. 'May I come in?' he asked. But Fatimah (rt.anha) did not allow him enter the room. 'I'm sorry, my father is ill,' said Fatimah (rt,Anha) , turned her body back and closed the door. She went back to her father who had opened his eyes and asked Fatimah (rt.Anha) , 'Who was he, my daughter?' 'I don't know, my father. It was the first time for me to see him,' Fatimah (rt.Anha) said gently. Then, Rasulullah ﷺ looked at his daughter with trembled look, as if he wanted to reminisce about every part of her daughter's face. 'Know one thing! He is who erases the temporary pleasure; he is who separates the companionship in the world. He is the death angel,' said Rasulullah ﷺ Fatimah (rt.Anha) bore the bomb of her cry. The death angel came toward him, But Rasulullah ﷺ asked why Jibril (alahsalam) did not come along with him.. Then, Jibril (alahsalam) was called. Jibril (alehslam) was ready in the sky to welcome the soul of Habibullah and the leader of the earth. 'O Jibril, explain me about my rights in front of ALLAH?' Rasulullah ﷺ asked with a weakest voice. 'The doors of sky have opened, the angels are waiting for your soul.' 'All jannats open widely waiting for you,' Jibril (alehsalam) said.. But, in fact, all this did not make Rasulullah ﷺ relieved, his eyes were still full of worry.. 'You are not happy to hear this news?' asked Jibril (alehsalam) . 'Tell me about the destiny of my people in future?' 'Don't worry, O Rasul ALLAH ﷺ . I heard ALLAH tell me: 'I make jannat haram for every one, except the people of Muhammad ﷺ who are inside it,' Jibril (alehsalam) said. It became closer and closer, the time for Malaekat Izrail (alehsalam) to do his work. Slowly, Rasulullah's ﷺ soul was pulled. It was seemed that the body of Rasulullah ﷺ was full of sweat; the nerves of his neck became tight. 'Jibril (alehsalam) , how painful this sakaratul maut is!' Rasulullah ﷺ uttered a groan slowly. Fatimah (rt.anha) closed her eyes, Ali (rt.anho) sat beside her bowed deeply and Jibril (alehsalam) turned his face back. 'Am I repugnant to you that you turn your face back o Jibril?'(alehsalam) Rasulullah ﷺ asked the Deliverer of Wahy. 'Who is the one who could see the Habibullah in his condition of sakaratul maut,' Jibril (alehsalam) said.. Not for a while, Rasulullah ﷺ uttered a groan because of unbearable pain. 'O ALLAH, how great is this sakaratul maut. Give me all these pains, don't give it to my people.' The body of Rasulullah ﷺ became cold, his feet and chest did not move anymore.... His lips vibrated as if he wanted to say something, Ali (rt.anho) took his ear close to Rasulullah ﷺ 'Uushiikum bis shalati, wa maa malakat aimanuku - take care of the saalat and take care the weak people among you.' Outside the room, there were cries shouted each other, sahabah held each other. Fatimah (rt.anha) closed her face with her hands and, again, Ali (rt.anho) took his ear close to Rasulullah's ﷺ mouth which became bluish. 'Ummatii, ummatii, ummatii?' - 'My people, my people, my people.' And the life of the Prophet ﷺ ended. Could we love each other like him? Allahumma salle 'ala Muhammad wa baarik wa salim 'alaihi. How deep is Rasulullah's ﷺ love to us. Note: Send this to all your Muslim friends so that there is an awareness towards the love of ALLAH and His Rasul - because - truly - except this love, the other loves, are only fana (not everlasting) thing. Ameen...... Don't worry if people hate you because there are many others who love and care you in the earth. But be worried if ALLAH hates you because there is no other who loves and cares you in akhirat. May Almighty Allah guide all of us to the Right Path and give all of us the courage to accept the Truth in the light of Qur'an and Sunnah and to reject all things which are in contradiction to the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah. (Ameen!) Please pass this around, perhaps you would be a reason

Dillu Ram Kausari: The Hindu Poet who Loved The Prophet,

When the British still ruled India there lived, in Delhi, a well-known Hindu poet by the name of Dillu Ram Kausari. Now, this poet, though a Hindu, wrote encomiums and poems [na’at] in praise of the Prophet MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam(upon him be blessings and peace.) He became famous for writing such poetry and his poems became well known to such an extent that it scandalised his fellow Hindus who accosted him and said, “Dillu Ram, what is the matter with you? You have disgraced the name of Hindus! You are a Hindu and yet you sing praises of and write poetry praising the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamof the Muslims?” “Do not stop me”, answered Dillu Ram, “for I am forced to write such poetry.” “Who or what is forcing you?” his fellow Hindus asked. “I am forced by my love,” he cried. “I have fallen in love with the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam!” “How can you, being a Hindu, fall in love with the Muslims’ ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam?” they asked, perplexed. To this Dillu Ram replied, “’Love is not forced it just happens’”. “How much do you love the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamthen?” they asked him, still astonished that one of their own could love the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam. To this Dillu Ram wept like a lover departed from his beloved and recited a poem of his. He said: Kuch ‘ishq e MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallammein nahin shart e Musulman! Hai Kausari Hindu bhii talabgaar e MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam! Allah re! kyaa raunaq e bazaar e MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam Ke Ma’bood e Jahan bhi hai kharidaar e MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam! Being a Muslim is not a condition for loving MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam! Kausari, the Hindu, is also a seeker of MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam! By Allah! How delightful is the bazaar of MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam For the Lord of the Worlds is also a buyer of MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam! They left him in disgust. The poetry of Dillu Ram became more widespread and one quatrain, in particular, shocked the entire community in India, both Muslims and Hindus. In this quatrain he imagined himself on the Day of Judgement and wrote these words, which were published (as were many of his other poems in various Urdu monthlies) in a Urdu magazine called "Maulvi” which was printed in Delhi. This was the controversial quatrain: Rahmatulilalamin kay Hashar mein maana’ khulay Khalq saari Shaafa e Roz e Jaza kay saath hai Laykay Dillu Raam ko jannat mein jab Hazrat gaye Ma’loom huwa kay Hindu bhi Mahboob e Khuda kay saath hai! The meaning of “Mercy unto the Worlds” became apparent on Judgement Day: The whole creation is with the Intercessor of The Day of Acquittal When the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamtook Dillu Ram with him into Paradise It was known that this Hindu too is with the Beloved of God! This quatrain scandalised both Hindus and Muslims! It annoyed the the Hindus who objected to his continued praise of the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamand it scandalised the Muslims who were angered by the sheer audacity of this Hindu to speak like that about the Day of Judgment! How can a Hindu go to heaven? they asked. Undeterred by this criticism, Dillu Ram continued most of his life to sing the praises of the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamalthough he never became a Muslim and remained a Hindu. It is also said that Dillu Ram, delirious with his love, would sometimes stand in the middle of the bazaar in Delhi, put chains around his neck and feet and shout at the top of his voice to all passers-by, “MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam! MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam! MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam! Yes! MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamis the Beloved of God! MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamis the first and only Beloved of God! If God loves you, He loves you because of His BelovedSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam!” Some people even stoned him and he would often come home covered in blood but he was totally lost in his love of the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam(peace and blessings be upon him!) As he got older, his fame as a poet (and infamy) spread and when he became seriously ill it was reported in the various literary magazines throughout India including in “Maulvi”. It was reported in this magazine that when he was on his deathbed, seriously weakened and surrounded by well-wishers, friends, family, and admirers of his poetry including many other poets, he was so weak he couldn’t leave his bed. Strangely, he continued to stare at the door and after a while his face brightened and he got up and stood on his feet and hands-folded, asked all those gathered there to also stand up. Astonished his intimates asked him,“The one whom I have spent my whole life praising has arrived! The blessed Father of Fatima salamun alayha MuhammadSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamis here, visiting me! And I have not even accepted his religion! How generous my belovedSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamis!” Weeping, he began to converse with the spirit of the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamwho said to him, “Dillu Ram! Your time is almost upon you. Azraelalayhis 'salamis almost here! I do not want anyone who has praised me like you have to go to the hellfire! I wish to take you into Paradise with me!” Weeping Dillu Ram recited the Kalimah (Muslim Credo) and then said to the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, “Master! You have taught me the Kalimah now also give me a Muslim name of your choice! I can feel The Angel of Death is almost upon me!” The ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamgave him the name Kausar Ali Kausari. After that the fortunate former Hindu poet passed away. Verily we are from God and unto Him is our return! His name has become famous amongst traditional Sunni Barelvi Muslims of the Subcontinent as a lover of the ProphetSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamwho attained a blessing only given to God’s chosen few—the vision of the BelovedSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamwhilst in a state of waking! May God give us all the love of Dillu Ram Kausari! Amen.

Fasting: The Systemic Context

This is the first Friday of Ramadan 1435, the holy month of fasting. It is a matter of gratification that in spite of our woeful decadence, this blessed month infuses a current of life, however tentative, into our spiritually lifeless bodies. This is a sign of grace (barakah) that this month brings in its lap for us. This barakah will certainly increase and deepen if we could arouse our consciousness to the place Ramadan has in the over-all system of Islam. Islam aims at awakening the spirit of man and enabling him to realize the prodigious potential latent in him in a way which is comprehensively beneficial to him, to his society and to mankind at large. For this purpose, the beginning is to be made with the conquest of man’s carnal self. This conquest implies that man’s spirit, the Divine spark in him, assumes the command of the animal energy in him, existing in the form of desires and proclivities. Three of these – eating, drinking and the sexual desire – have always defied control and need to be adequately bridled. Fasting has been prescribed to achieve this end. There are some life-denying systems which believe in totally exterminating carnal desires and for this purpose they prescribe various ways of penance and self-mortification. The history of religion is full of examples of such systems of belief. This extreme position culminates in escape from life and its responsibilities. Another extreme is to give in to carnal desires and live a life of gay abandon which, if practised at a large scale, will reduce human society to a congregation of animals. Islam accepts life in its totality but prescribes a moral and spiritual regimen to keep desire in check and divert this prodigious energy to paths of spiritual evolution. Fasting is an essential part of this regimen. It enables us to gain control over the most unruly desires in us. But to achieve this objective two essential conditions are to be fulfilled. First, since fasting is an integral part of a regimen, the whole regimen is to be adopted in order to make it really effective. You cannot isolate a particular component of a recipe for treatment from other components and have the results which it can produce in combination with other components of the recipe. Secondly the regimen has to be adopted for the sake of Allah’s pleasure. Any other motivation, such as considerations of health, may yield some marginal biological benefits but the real benefit will be lost. :- Prof. G R Malik

Taraweeh and science

Islam is the only religion where physical movements of Salat and Taraweeh prayers are combined with spiritual exercise. When Salat and Taraweeh prayers are practised throughout a person's life, recurring every few hours or so, trains a person to undertake the difficult task of meditation during physical manoeuvres of Salat and Taraweeh prayers, so that the Namazi(one who performs the Salat ) benefits both from spiritual as well as physical exercise. This prevents coronary heart disease (CHD), increases high density lipo-proteins (HDL or healthy Cholesterol), increases maximum oxygen uptake, slows the heart, lowers the B.P. slightly, decreases ventricular ectopic activity, enlarges the lumen of the coronary arteries and increases cardiac output, improves carbohydrate tolerance and improves late-onset diabetes, and helps cases of chronic respiratory diseases. Constant repetition of the Quranic Ayaat would help to screen the mind from the incoming thoughts. It has been found by a Harvard University researcher, Dr. Herbert Benson that repetition of a prayer, Ayat of the Quran or Dhikr of Allah or muscular activity coupled with passive disregard of intensive thoughts causes a "relaxation response" that leads to the lowering of Blood Pressure and decreases in oxygen consumption and a reduction in heart and respiratory rates. During the Taraweeh prayers, systolic Blood pressure may rise (the larger number in B.P.) a little and the diastolic Blood Pressure(the lower number in B.P.) may remain unchanged or even fall. However after the Taraweeh prayers are over, the B.P. may drop to just below normal levels which is a welcome sign. Taraweeh prayers improve respiratory efficiency. The increase in the maximal consumption of oxygen is what makes the Namazi feel better. Those who perform the Taraweeh prayers, apart from the prescribed Salat , are more alert and active than those who do not perform the Taraweeh prayers, even after the age of retirement. Taraweeh prayers improve physical strength and joint stability and reduce the risk of injury to the tendons and connective tissues. After age 40, the bone mineral density falls with age. Taraweeh prayers increase bone mineral density. -- Dr. Ibrahim B. Syed, Ph.D

Rewards For Performing Taraweeh During Ramadhan

According to Áli ibn Abí Tâlib, when our Prophet Muhammad (saw) was asked about the virtue of the Taraweeh and the reward for doing them, he said: 1ST NIGHT - Almighty Allah forgives all the sins of a mu'min. 2nd NIGHT - Your sins including your mu'min parents sins are forgiven. 3rd NIGHT - Below the Arsh-Allah's throne there an angel proclaims,'O, MU'MIN make good deeds with sincerity, Allah has forgiven your past sins' 4th NIGHT - You are awarded the sawaab of reading Thaurat, Injeel, Zaboor and the Quraan Majid. 5th NIGHT - You get sawaab equal to that which you would gain if you read your salaat in masjid Haram, Medina Munawara and masjid Aqsa. 6th NIGHT - You gain the sawaab of the Tawaaf made by the 70,000 angels made at Baitul Mamoor on the 7th sky. 7th NIGHT - You receive the sawaab of those good people who helped Musa A.S. when he fought Fir'un and Haman. 8th NIGHT - The rewards for the 8th taraweeh are equal to the sawaab awarded to Ibrahim A.S. 9th NIGHT - The rewards of this night are equivalent to the sawaabs awarded to our HOLY PROPHET - MUHAMMED S.A.W. [P.B.U.H] 10th NIGHT - Allah proclaims for you all the best in the world. 11th NIGHT - The reward for this night is that when a mu'min leaves this world, he goes with faith {Imaan} 12th NIGHT - On the day of resurrection you will appear with a face with so much (Nur) lustre on it, as much as the lustre of the 14th moon. 13th NIGHT - On the day of resurrection, you will be protected from evil. 14th NIGHT - On the day of resurrection, the angels will be witnesses for the taraweeh you are performing. On this evidence Allah will grant your entry into Paradise without account. 15th NIGHT - All the Malaikaas, the Hoories and the Arsh-wa-Kursie (Allah's throne) plead for you before Allah for his mercy. 16th NIGHT - Allah gives instructions: to free you from Hell - to allow you entrance to Paradise. 17th NIGHT - Allah grants you the sawaab of the Anbiya (Prophets) 18th NIGHT - On this night a angel announces that Allah is happy with you, and your parents. 19th NIGHT - The reward for this night is that Allah makes your position greater in Paradise. 20th NIGHT - On this night Allah rewards you by granting to you the sawaab of the martyred and the pious. 21st NIGHT - On this night, Allah builds a house with lustre for you in Paradise. 22nd NIGHT - On the resurrection ground you will arrive duly freed from sorrow and worry. 23rd NIGHT - On this night Allah makes a garden ('shaher') for you in Paradise. 24th NIGHT - On this night Allah grants twenty-four duas (wishes). 25th NIGHT - Allah lifts his punishment form your grave. 26th NIGHT - Allah increases for you the sawaab of 40 years. 27th NIGHT - The rewards for this night of Taraweeh are that you will be able to cross the Pul-Siraat (bridge) like lightning. 28th NIGHT - Your position in Paradise is increased by one stage. 29th NIGHT - Allah Ta'aala grants the sawaab of 1,000 'makabul' (accepted) Haj. 30th NIGHT - By performing this night of taraweeh you would be one of the many persons who, on the day of resurrection will hear Allah Ta'aala say in Paradise, 'Eat whichever fruit you like to eat, bathe with the water of Salsabil and drink the Kauser water! I am thy Lord and you are my person!'

Twelve Months

"The twelve months of the year are like the twelve sons of Prophet Yaqub alayhis-salaam. And just as Prophet Yusuf was the most beloved to Yaqub, the month of Ramadhan is the most beloved to Allah. And just as Allah forgave the eleven brothers by the Duah of one, Yusuf. He can forgive your eleven months of sins by your Duas in Ramadan." - Imam Ibn Jawzi

Soul from Imam Ghazalis Rawzatul Taalibeen

Adapted from Imam Ghazali's[ RadiAllahu anhu] Rawdhatul at Talibin :: Allah Most High says in the Holy Qur’an (15:26-29) that when He created man from black mud and fashioned him into the beautiful shape of a human being, and made him complete, HE BREATHED INTO MAN HIS SOUL FROM HIS OWN SOUL. That is what makes us His best creation, a whole universe, a microcosm containing all of creation, almost a divinity, BUT MORTAL, although we are blessed with something within us which is immortal, eternal. But can we identify the “soul”? Can we touch it, see it, feel it? Where is it within us? What does it do to us? We find an excuse for claiming not to understand the soul. We are told by Allah Most High Himself, addressing His most loved creation, our Master, (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam), that if they (we) ask him about the soul to tell us that “the soul is under the command of our Lord and of its knowledge we are given but little…” (17:85) -- But our soul is our only connection with our Lord, which came from Him and which will return to Him. And we are told, “He who knows himself (his soul) knows his Lord.” So we must seek. We must understand even if “we are given of this knowledge but little.” -- The soul is a light. And the receptivity, the ability to be lighted, enlightened with the human soul, is likened to a wick in an oil lamp. The oil lamp is the body, a manifestation of the Divine Attributes ya Khaliq, ya Bari, ya Musawwir: the Creator, the Maker, the Shaper. The oil is life, a gift and manifestation of the Divine Attribute ya Hayy, the Ever-living. In the whole of creation, the wick is a unique gift, given only to the human being: Aql, intelligence, a manifestation of the Divine Attributes of ya Nur, the Light, and ya Alim, the Knower. To light this lamp of the human being, the wick must have the capacity to absorb the oil of the experiences and the mysteries of life. Human intelligence must absorb knowledge. Otherwise, it can not catch fire. When Allah Most High says, “I blow into him”, it is as if His ever-existing Nur, the Divine Light, touches the receptive human intelligence, and lights the light of the human soul. Intelligence which does not understand, which does not know, does not have the capacity to receive the eternal soul. That is why our master, the Beloved of Allah (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) says, “He who does not have intelligence does not have faith or religion.” The soul is not contained within us like water in a cup, or like knowledge which enters our memory or mind. It is more like sunlight reflected on a window at sunset, or an image reflected in a mirror. But if the mirror is dirty, nothing will show in it. How does the soul’s light manifest itself in us? It is that which makes us see, hear, and smell, but not the usual way we sense things. The enlightenment of the soul should make us see true reality, even make us see our Lord, in the way of Hd. Ali (RadiAllahu anhu) who said, “I do not worship a God whom I do not see.” And indeed he worshiped him intensely. Or like Hd. Omar (RadiAllahu anhu.) who saw, from Madina, the Muslim armies in danger of being surrounded all the way in Persia and shouted “Pull back to the mountain!” and was heard. Or like the blessed companions of the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) who used to hear rocks and plants saluting the Beloved of Allah (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). And like the Messenger of Allah himself (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam), who smelled the perfume of Hd. Uways al Karani (RadiAllahu anhu.) long after he had returned home and said, “I smell the presence of a friend.” And who furthermore looked into the eyes of Hd. Aisha (RadiAllahu.anha.), who had seen Uways, and saw him in her eyes. If we have a soul, we should be able to know ourselves, and in this knowledge know our Lord. adapted from Imam Ghazali's[ RadiAllahu anhu] Rawdatul at Talibin by Shaykh Tosun

Imam Shaafi(qadasallahu sira) taking Blessings from Imam Hanbals T Shirt

One of the students of Imam Shafii’ (rah), Rabi ibn Sulayman narrates: “One day Imam Shafii’ (rah) said to me: “Rabi, take this letter to Ahmad ibn Hanbal (rah) and then bring me the reply” I took the letter and went to Baghdad. I met with Ahmad ibn Hanbal at the dawn prayer which we prayed together. When Imam Ahmad (rah) came away from the altar I presented the letter to him and said: “This letter is from your brother in Egypt, Imam Shafii”. He asked me: “What is the letter about, do you know?” I replied that I did not know. Then Ahmad ibn Hanbal(rah) took the letter, removed the seal and began to read it. Suddenly his eyes filled with tears. I asked him: “O Imam. What is it? What does the letter say?” He said: “Imam Shafii’ saw the Blessed Prophet in his dream. The Messenger of Allah said to him: ‘Write a letter to Ahmad ibn Hanbal and send him my greetings of peace. He will be subject to instigation and it will be asked of him to make a ruling and say that ‘the Qur’an is created’. Beware and do not bow down to their demands. Allah will make his name be remembered and exalted until the day of Judgement’. I said to him: “O Imam! What great news this is for you!” Then out of happiness the Imam took off his shirt and gave it to me. After receiving the reply I then left for Egypt. I gave the letter to Imam Shafii’ who then said: “We would not wish to sadden you by taking from you the shirt that he gave to you. But at least take it and dip it in water and then give us that water so that we may receive a share of the blessings of that shirt”. Imam Maalik Extreme Respect On Listening Name of Beloved

Narrated by Sayyidina Musaib bin Abdullah rahimahullah : Whenever Imaam Maalik (rahimahullah) would talk about RasoolAllahﷺ, the colour of his face would change and he would stand up with respect. Some people were surprised at this behaviour of the Imaam, so they asked him about it. Imaam Maalik replied, "You do not see what I see. If you would have seen what I see, you would not be surprised at my behaviour." Ash-Shifa : Qadi Iyadh, v.2, p.90

Never obey of your ego

Never leave an atom’s weight of your regular devotional practice. Never be lenient with yourself in either relaxed times or those of high resolve. Indeed, should you miss some of your practice at a given time, redress it later. If you are not able to do your usual practice, at least occupy yourself with some other similar practice. Never obey your selfish soul even for a moment nor believe any of its claims no matter what it says. To the utmost, guard your resolve in all affairs; and should you resolve to do something, do it immediately before it abates or dissipates. Examine your soul constantly in matters you are obliged to do or those that you should do. Leave off anything you don’t need to do, even the recommended - in short, do not involve yourself in anything other than the absolutely necessary or that in which a real discernible need exists. Fast on the 15th of Sha'ban

Sayyiduna Ali (Radi Allahu Anhu) has reported that the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said, "When the 15th Night of Sha'ban comes, do Qiyam (for worship) in the night and observe fast during the day. No doubt, Allah reveals a special Divine Manifestation on the sky above the earth from the time of sunset and announces, ‘Is there anyone seeking forgiveness so that I may forgive him? Is there anyone seeking sustenance so that I may grant him sustenance? Is there anyone afflicted so that I may relieve his affliction? Is there so and so...’ He keeps announcing this until the time of Fajr." [Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol. 2, Page 160, Hadith 1388]

Never demand a right for anyone.

Never demand a right from anyone, whether an intimate or a stranger. The reason is simple: a stranger owes you nothing, and one close to you is too important to direct your blame toward. Never assume that anyone in this world can really understand your circumstances other than from the perspective of his own circumstances, because, in reality, people see things only in accordance with their frames of reference and their personal path. However, when aims, purposes, and aspirations are similar, people tend to work together toward a common goal

World without Muslims

Someone posted this picture and another Muslim person wrote this awesome response that gives us hope. Alhamdulillah! "Yes, lets imagine a world WITHOUT MUSLIMS, shall we? Without Muslims you wouldn't have: 1- Coffee 2- Cameras 3- Experimental Physics 4- Chess 5- Soap 6- Shampoo 7- Perfume/spirits 8- Irrigation 9- Crank-shaft 10- Internal combustion engine 11- Valves 12- Pistons 13- Combination locks 14- Architectural innovation (pointed arch -European Gothic cathedrals adopted this technique as it made the building much stronger, rose windows, dome buildings, round towers, etc.) 15- Surgical instruments 16- Anesthesia 17- Windmill 18- Treatment of Cowpox 19- Fountain pen 20- Numbering system 21- Algebra/Trigonometry 22- Modern Cryptology 23- Crystal glasses 24- Carpets 25- Checks 26- University 27- Optics 28- Toothbrush 29- Hospitals 30- Bathing 31- Quilting 32- Mariner’s Compass 33- Soft drinks 34- Pendulum 35- Braille 36- Cosmetics 37- Plastic surgery 38- Calligraphy 39- Manufacturing of paper and cloth It was a Muslim who realized that light ENTERS our eyes, unlike the Greeks who thought we EMITTED rays, and so invented a camera from this discovery. It was a Muslim who first tried to FLY in 852, even though it is the Wright Brothers who have taken the credit. It was a Muslim by the name of Jabir ibn Hayyan who was known as the founder of modern Chemistry. He transformed alchemy into chemistry. He invented:- 1- Distillation 2- Purification 3- Oxidation 4- Evaporation 5- Filtration. He also discovered sulfuric and nitric acid. It is a Muslim, by the name of Al-Jazari who is known as the father of robotics. It was a Muslim who was the architect for Henry V’s castle. It was a Muslim who invented hollow needles to suck cataracts from eyes, a technique still used today. It was a Muslim who actually discovered inoculation, not Jenner and Pasteur to treat cowpox. The West just brought it over from Turkey. It was Muslims who contributed much to mathematics like Algebra and Trigonometry, which was imported over to Europe 300 years later to Fibonnaci and the rest. It was Muslims who discovered that the Earth was round 500 years before Galileo did. The list goes on and on.. Just imagine a world without Muslims. Now I think you probably meant, JUST IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT TERRORISTS. And then I would agree, the world would definitely be a better place without those pieces of filth. But to hold a whole group responsible for the actions of a few is ignorant and racist. No one would ever expect Christians or White people to be held responsible for the acts of Timothy McVeigh (Oklahoma bombing) or Andreas Brevik (Norway killing), or the gun man that shot Congresswoman Giffords in head, wounded 12 and killed 6 people, and rightly so because they had nothing to do with those incidents! Just like the rest of the 1.5 billion Muslims have nothing to do with this incident!"

Doing Zikr

“Doing dhikr, you’re walking in the street, driving your car, accustom yourself to doing dhikr without being distracted that is the easiest until you reach a point where you automatically make dhikr, unconsciously you make dhikr.” -Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi Hafidahullah

On giving attention To Two Worlds

The man who gives his worldly life and his Hereafter equal attention, and has inwardly the same degree of concentration and eagerness and outwardly the same amount of effort and pursuit, is excessively foolish and stupid. What then of the man who gives more attention and effort to his worldly life? And what then of the man who pays no attention at all nor exerts any effort for his life-to-come? We ask God to guard us against this and all other afflictions and dangers and to guard our loved ones and all Muslims! - Imam 'Abdullah ibn 'Alawi al-Haddad

Demand answers and references

"If you’re not in the field of scholarship, you MUST demand answers and references. It is YOUR Deen. Don’t give it to anybody. In saying this, we’re not questioning the integrity of the people [being the scholars], but we’re questioning the references and the depth of knowledge. Among the signs of the Day of Judgment, Al Nabi salla Allah alayhi wa alihi wa sallam says as Imam Ahmad narrates in his Musnad with a Saheeh sanad that that there will be a time when El Rawaibeda speaks. The Sahaba asked who is El Rowaibeda ya Rasul Allah (salla Allah alayhi wa alihi sallam)? He said the one who is ignorant but seeks to address the masses. ‘Ta’aluq’ (or attachment) to Rasul Allah (salla Allah alayhi wa alihi sallam) is not based on jahl. It’s not based on stories. It’s not based on fairytales. It’s not based on dreams and illusions and delusions. It is based on ilm of Kitab Allah first." Sayyidi Shaykh Dr. Muhammad bin Yahya al Husayni al Ninowy

Quran is like a friend

Imam E Azam abu Hanifa -radiallahu anhu

One love to the Hanafi school of thought. The Madhab that is followed by most of the world. Imam al-Azam is truly that. Ma Sha' Allah. Imam Jalal ad-Din as-Suyuti {May Allah have mercy upon him} relates that a certain visitor came to observe Imam Abu Hanifah {May Allah have mercy upon him} and saw him all day long in the Masjid, teaching relentlessly, answering every question from both the scholars and the common people, not stopping except to pray, then standing at home in prayer when people were asleep, hardly ever eating or sleeping, and yet the most handsome and gracious of people, always alert and never tired, day after day for a long time, so that in the end the visitor said: "I became convinced that this was not an ordinary matter, but it is that he has Friendship with Allah." {Tabyid as-Sahifa} Among the Hanafis and others it is famously said: “Fiqh was planted by 'Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, irrigated by Alqamah, harvested by Ibrahim an-Nakha’i, threshed by Hammad, milled by Abu Hanifah, kneaded by Abu Yusuf, and baked by ash-Shaybani. And the Muslims are nourished by his bread.” {Radd al-Muhtar ala ad-Dur al-Mukhtar} via: Shaykh Luqman Al-Andalusi

That is the Message

“We’re all here to go. None of us is here to stay in this current form, in the body. Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala created the body to die. Otherwise, if He didn’t want to the bodies to die, He wouldn’t have created death in the first place. But you live with your soul, don’t you? How come we always nourish the body but neglect the soul? Don’t neglect your soul and just live with your body. That’s an awful waste of life! Love and unconditional compassion is the food of the soul. Revive your soul with love and more love and more love, and then more love. Love God; Love his creation. That’s the message." Sayyidi Shaykh Dr. Muhammad bin Yahya al Husayni al Ninowy

Divide Your Time

A believer should divide his time into three parts--- he should supplicate to his Lord secretly in one, settle an account with himself in the second, and permit himself to enjoy the good and legal pleasures in the third. The intelligent should not travel except in three situations: seeking the worldly earnings, getting supplies for the life to come, and gaining a lawful pleasure. ~Imam Ali (A.S)

Imam Ghazali's Six Questions

One fine day, Al Ghazali was sitting among his students. He asked them six interesting questions: 1. Al Ghazali: Tell me the nearest thing in our life His students: Parents, teachers, and friends. Al Ghazali: It is death. Allah said, Every soul shall have a taste of death. 2. Al Ghazali: Tell me the farthest place from earth His students: Moon, sun, and stars. Al Ghazali: It is the past. No matter how hard we try, it is unreachable. 3. Al Ghazali: Tell me the biggest thing on earth His students: Mountain and ocean. Al Ghazali: It is passion. Because of it, we can be thrown into darkest pit of the hell. 4. Al Ghazali: Tell me the heaviest thing on earth His students: elephant and steel. Al Ghazali: It is the trust. 5. Al Ghazali: Tell me the lightest thing on earth His students: Wind, dust, and cotton. Al Ghazali: It is leaving five times pray. We leave it because of our job or business. 6. Al Ghazali: Tell me the sharpest thing on earth His students: Sword. Al Ghazali: It is word. Because people shall hate each other from words. -- From book "The Inspiring Words" by Deshinta Arrova Dewi (Believe it or not, what is mentioned in the statements above is true. Try to comprehend it by our logic, it's not only in my religion, Islam, but also for other religions. We cannot deny)

Sayiduna Abu Bakr As Siddique(radialllahu ta ala anhU) incident in childhood

When Sayyiduna Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (Radi Allahu Anhu) was four years old, his father took him in front of an idol in the Ka'bah and said to him, "This is your mighty Lord, so make Sajdah to him." When he (Radi Allahu Anhu) heard this he said to the idol, “I am hungry, feed me. I am naked, cloth me. I will throw a stone at you, if you are the Lord then defend yourself.” There was no response from the idol. So he took a stone and hit the idol. The Divinely blessed power and force of the stone dropped the idol. On seeing this, his father became furious and slapped him on the face. He then took him home and complained to the mother. She replied, “Leave him alone because when he was born I heard someone from the Unseen saying to me, 'O servant lady of Allah! Glad tiding to you on the birth of this free child whose name in the skies is Siddique (Truthful) and he will be the close companion of Muhammad (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam)'. At that time I did not know who Muhammad (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) was and what all this meant”. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddique (Radi Allahu Anhu) personally reported this incident to the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam). After he reported this, an Angel appeared and confirmed, "Abu Bakr speaks the truth and he is Siddique (Truthful)." This Hadith Sharif is recorded in "Ma'aaliyul Arsh ila Awaliyul Farsh" and quoted by Imam Ahmad Qastalaani (Alayhir Rahmah) in his commentary of Sahih al-Bukhari. — — — Malfoozat-e-AlaHazrat, Vol. 1, Page 60 Irshad al-Sari li Sharh Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 8, Page 370 Mirqat al-Mafatih Sharh Mishkat al-Masabih, Vol. 11, Page 178

Shaykh Sayid Abul-Huda AlYaqoubi- Prophetic Miracles 2014

Two weeks ago Allah gave me a great honor to write a book of Salawat upon Sayyiduna Rasul Allah ﷺ. Something special happened to me and Allah honoured me with a great vision of Sayyiduna Rasul Allah ﷺ, I was in a state of ecstasy. I started writing Salawat and in a few hours I wrote 22 salawat then i went to sleep. I got up after about 3 hours and then I started writing again. In 5 five days i wrote approx 500 forms of prayers, by friday 600 prayers were written, some are unique in their style in the history of Islam. I wrote 77 forms of prayers using the 14 undotted letters in the arabic alphabet as are used in the name "Muhammad" ﷺ. Allah inspired me to write forms of prayers using the non dotted letters. I also wrote over 120 forms of prayers on Sayyiduna Rasul Allah ﷺ in the context of different islamic sciences (such as fiqh etc). I wrote the Salawat on Sayyiduna Rasul Allah ﷺ using the 99 names of Allah, demonstrating how each aspect of the name relates to the attributes of Sayyiduna Rasul Allah ﷺ and to us. I went through Al Quran and selected every single verse in which He ﷺ is mentioned and wrote Salawat from those verses, It is now longer than Dala'il al-Khayrat [the most celebrated manual of Blessings on the Prophet] written by Imam Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Jazuli al-Hassani (may Allah lighten his tomb). If I had planned to write it I would have probably spent a year to produce it. In less than a week i wrote it, I think I will call it Shifa'a al-Quloob (remedy of the heart). There are two special sections in it. There is a section on Haja'at (need) and the other Salawat al-Shifa (prayer of cure -15 forms). I finished the first version on friday. - Shaykh Sayyid Muhammad al-Yaqoubi | Prophetic Miracles 2014

Prophetic Sunnah Always Best Treatment

Over 1,400 years ago, whenever a newborn child was brought to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), he would chew a date until it was soft and then rub a piece of it onto the palate of the baby. This Sunnah (prophetic practice) is called Tahneek. Today, BBC News has reported that medical researchers in New Zealand have proposed that - "A dose of sugar given as a gel rubbed into the inside of the cheek is a cheap and effective way to protect premature babies against brain damage" This is one of the reasons why Muslims follow the Sunnah of the Messenger (pbuh) without questioning it. Science is only now discovering a tradition that was introduced 1,400 years ago in the deserts of Arabia. Islam in all its aspects has relevance today, tomorrow and forever. http://m.bbc.com/news/health-24224206

Prophet's Special Mercy on Imam Nab'haani

"During my stay in Madinat al-Munawwarah, I once experienced extreme hunger. Presenting myself at the blessed tomb of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.), I pleaded, 'Ya Rasulullah (s.a.w.), I am hungry!” Suddenly, I fell asleep. Meanwhile, someone awoke me and asked me to go with him. I agreed and he took me to his house. Serving me with dates, butter and wheat bread he said, 'Eat until you are satiated because my blessed ancestor Sayyiduna Muhammad (s.a.w.) has commanded me to be hospitable to you. Come to me whenever you feel hunger in future.'” Imam Yusuf ibn Isma’il an-Nabhani (q.s.)

Repentance

Rush also to the sincere repentance that will take you to God’s love for you. He said, God loves the repentant (2:222). How great is the repentance that takes to love! He who has repented [tāba] has turned back [anāba]; and he who has turned back has returned [āba]; and he who has returned has knocked on the door [bāb]; and he who has knocked on the door, the door will soon be openedfor him; and he for whom the door has opened, has seen the people of the realities [albāb], those from whom the veil [hijāb] has been lifted. I said by the grace of my Lord, Repent if you want the love of the Forgiving One for God forgives all sins. He is not disappointed by he who comes to him, repentant, he is saved by his repentance from what is other than Him. The heart is not straight in its actions until it repents to the One, the Subduer. The love of the world is an unsettling state of thirst and worry, so remove the thirst of your soul by making it renounce the perishing world and desire the everlasting One. If it desires, it renounces; and if it renounces, it finds, and if it finds, it becomes serious, and if it becomes serious, it rushes forth; and it it rushes forth, it arrives; and if it arrives, it connects. Shaykh Sālih al-Ja’farī al-Fawā’id al-Ja’fariyyah a Commentary on Forty Prophetic Traditions translated by Sidī Samer Dajani

How Strange We Long Not For The Provider but the provided!

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Surely I know an Ayat which, if people would have followed, would have sufficed for them concerning everything, ‘For those who fear Allah, He provides a way out for them, (and) He also provides them provisions from (sources) that they could never have imagined (Surah at-Talaq, Ayat 2-3).’” [Ahmad] An old man came to Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi. Overcome with sorrow he had unbuttoned his shirt, was clawing at and pounding on his chest and wailing. He came down on his knees and holding onto the sleeves of Maulana Rumi’s coat said, “I had a poor little child… only seven. They kidnapped him! I have become weak searching for him!” Maulana Rumi counseled him with, “How strange! All beings have lost Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) yet they do not search for Him, nor demand from anyone to help them find Him. They neither pound their chests nor tear at their hair. Such an old man as you destroys himself in the longing for a child: Why do you not seek Allah and ask for His help, so that you can find your Yusuf like Yaqub? The old man buttoned his shirt and repented. Soon he was given the good news that his son had been found. Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) is the One who bestows the child. Above one’s love and search for a child, Allah must be sought and loved.

Blessed Sandal

There is no equal to the impression of the Blessed Sandal of the Chosen Oneﷺ , It is Solace for my soul, Kohl for my eyes, So respect the imprint of the Exalted Sandals For every head wishes to be its foot. Verily I serve the image of the Sandal of Mustafa(salallahu'alay'he'wa'sallam) . That I shall live under its shadow in both worlds. [Sa’d] Ibn Masud radi Allahu ‘anhu was in the service of His Sandal. And I am fortunate by serving its image. I dust the Sandal image with the whiteness of my beard. Since the Prophet(salallahu'alay'he'wa'sallam) fastened the band that passed between His toes. It is not for the image that my heart is longing. Yet it yearns for the one who wore this Sandal. We are lowered by awe to honour this Sandal. And whenever we lower before it we are raised. So place it on the highest shelf! For indeed in reality it is a crown and only outwardly a Sandal. - Imam Yusuf al-Nabahani rahimahu Llah -

Love is more important than Oxygen

Ummah needs Zikr

“Allah warns people [in the Qur’an]: And be ye not like those who forgot Allah; and He made them forget their own souls! Such are the rebellious transgressors! [Surat Al Hashr 59:19] They forgot about Allah and Allah made them forget about themselves, as a consequence. Look at the aya. How strong! You forget about the dhikr of Allah and Allah will make you forget about yourself. What does that mean? You are lost! And therefore, look at the Ummah. The situation of the Ummah requires lots of dhikr today. The individual situation of the Muslims requires lots of dhikr today. And that’s why you see the individuals are lost and the Ummah as a whole now is lost. Not Islam! Islam is preserved by Allah. But the Muslims have to work up to the standards of Islam. And the reason the tawfiq is limited is because the dhikr isn’t there. They forgot about Allah so Allah make them forget about themselves. If you forget about the dhikr of Allah, then you are going to have a serious problem in iman and tawheed. Al Imam Ibn Ataa’illah Al Iskandari said “If you do not occupy yourself with the Haq, yourself will occupy you the Batil.” Instead of occupying yourself with the dhikr of Al-Khaliq (The Creator), it wants you to occupy yourself with the dhikr of the khalq (creation).” Shaykh Dr. Muhammad bin Yahya al-Husayni al-Ninowy

Your Destination

Everyone will reach according to what he does: if he is doing goodness, he will reach goodness forever, and if he is running after badness and shaytanic ideas, then he is going to reach that shaytanic power that will take him up like a hurricane and then leave him to fall. Now all people are under that terrible situation. May Allah forgive us. Sayyidi Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil Al Haqqani An Naqshbandi

Wage war on Shaytan and recite: " 'Aa'uzu billahi mina shaytan nir Rajeem"

"It has been said that Iblis sends out three hundred and sixty soldiers, on a daily basis, with the mission of leading the believer astray. But then, if the believer seeks refuge with Allah, Allah casts three hundred and sixty glances into his heart, and every one of those glances of His results in a fatal casualty for one of the soldiers of the Devil, may Allah doom him to damnation!" - Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al Jilani [Al-Ghunya li-Talibi Tariq al-Haqq, Volume 2]

The Riding Beast:

"The ego is at the heart of every troubIe in the Iives of aII individuaIs and society in generaI, the cuIprit who has earned the titIe: “PubIic Enemy Number One”. May AIIah grant us His Divine Guidance so we may continue on the straight path and be successfuI in fighting the deviIs and our Iower seIves, our egos. The Holy Prophet (SaIIahu ‘aIayhi wa saIam) used to ask AIIah to protect him against his ego: 'Oh AIIah don’t Ieave me in the hands of my ego for even a spIit second, the time it takes to bIink an eye or Iess than that'! In praying thus, the HoIy Prophet (SaIIahu ‘aIayhi wa saIam) was setting an exampIe for his Nation, showing us that we shouId aIways seek Divine Protection against our own Iower seIves. This teaching of the Prophet (SaIIahu ‘aIayhi wa saIam) is very important. The ego is a most dangerous enemy of mankind which triumphs by making peopIe faII into HeII, here and hereafter. The answer is to be found in the Prophet’s saying: “Your ego is your riding animaI, your mount.” If not for the ego, you wouId have to “waIk”. Therefore, Allah gives us egos to “ride” on that we may move forward. As we know of the HoIy Prophet (SaIIahu ‘aIayhi wa saIaam) himseIf, his ego appeared to him as “Burraq”, the heavenly winged steed that bore him from Earth to Heaven. But the desired transformation can onIy take pIace once we have taken our mount firmIy in rein; onIy then may it serve us as a heavenIy winged horse for taking us to our heavenIy pirituaI stations. Any one of us who strives, his ego may be transformed into a “Burraq” as weII. In any given time it is impossibIe for peopIe to attain heavenIy positions without foIIowing an Inheritor of the Holy Prophet (SaIIahu ‘aIayhi wa saIaam)! The Prophet (SaIIahu ‘aIayhi wa saIam) has said: 'Never wiII there cease to be a group from among my Nation Iiving in the best and truest manner, untiI the Resurrection Day', so if you can find even one person from among those peopIe, he may suffice you for Iearning what you need to know. One person’s teaching may suffice at the whoIe worId! But AIIah in His endIess Bounty and Generosity, has caused 124,000 Saints to be Iiving in each time, each one representing and embodying the spiritual emanations of one of the 124,000 Prophets. One Saint has been made to represent our BeIoved Prophet S(aIIahu ‘aIayhi wa saIam), who is the Imam and Ieader of aII the Prophets. Therefore, it is the duty of every MusIim to look for an inheritor of the Prophets, so he may Iearn how to deaI with his ego effectiveIy and how to put it under his command." Shaykh Ibrahim Niasse [d.1975],

Become a Man of AllAH

"If you can't be a doctor, if you can't be an engineer, if you can't be a writer, become a man of Allah, become a man who removes calamities around you. When a wali lives in area, the whole area will be full of light!" (Shaykh Abul Huda Al Yaqoubi)

The Coccyx Miracle in Islam and Science…

Abu Huraira said, "Allah's Apostle said, 'Between the two sounds of the trumpet, there will be forty." Somebody asked Abu Huraira, "Forty days?" But he refused to reply. Then he asked, "Forty months?" He refused to reply. Then he asked, "Forty years?" Again, he refused to reply. Abu Huraira added. "Then (after this period) Allah will send water from the sky and then the dead bodies will grow like vegetation grows, There is nothing of the human body that does not decay except one bone; that is the little bone at the end of the coccyx of which the human body will be recreated on the Day of Resurrection." (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 457) Explanation of the Hadith 1) The tailbone (coccyx) is the last bone at the end of your spine. 2) It is the only part of the body that does not decompose and cannot be destroyed. It cannot be finished even by burning under high temperature. 3) The first things to form inside the fertilized egg are the “primitive streak” and “node” [around 15 days later] from which all of the body of the baby originates and cells begin to form. Both of these later turn into the “tailbone”. 4) The tailbone contains mother cells for the body. 5) The first western scientist to discover the secret of the tailbone was a German named Hans Spemann (b. 1869 d. 1941) based at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. He called the Primitive streak and node the “primary organizer” which clearly suggests that the tailbone was the basic place of origin of the human. 6) After many experiments, he concluded that there was nothing that influenced the primary organizer and it could not be destroyed. 7) Hans Spemann was awarded the “Noble Prize” in 1935 for this discovery.8) Today, WARNEK (an organization responsible for ethical research on human fertilization & genetics) prohibits scientists to conduct experiments on fertilized eggs in which the primitive streak has already been formed. This shows the importance of the streak. Now think, when Prophet Muhammad’s information about the tailbone has been discovered by modern science, that it is where the human body is created from and that it will not be destroyed until every person shall be resurrected and reformed from it, his news that we shall be raised in another world from this tailbone shall also become true so do not neglect this fact.Peace be upon our Master Muhammad, the Final and Truthful Messenger of Allah Almighty who informed of us this news of the unseen many hundred years ago!

Fragrance of Salawaat Gathering

"It is related from one of the Companions (radiallahu anhum ajmaeen), There is no gathering in which blessings upon Prophet Muhammad(salallahu'alay'he'wasallam) are asked for but that a Beautiful Fragrance rises from it, which reaches Clouds in The Sky and the Angels Say, ' This is a gathering in which Blessings upon Prophet Muhammad (salallahu'alay'he'wa'sallam) are being asked for" (Dalail ul Khayraat)

Yearn For Prophet

"O People who weep in yearning for the Prophet ﷺ, a tree weeped for him and he ﷺ walked down from his mimbar whilst delivering Jumu'ah khutbah just to comfort the tree..Don't you think that for his blessed followers who weep for him, out of love for him ﷺ, don't you think he would come to comfort you?.." | Sayyid Habib Umar Bin Hafiz

Pain

“Pain -- there is some type of disquietude in the body to let you know it is not fulfilling its function. So if suddenly you have got the pain in your liver and you go and he says you have got hepatitis. That pain is to let you know that the function has been disrupted. The same is true for the soul. If you are not fulfilling your function which is to worship Allah, testify to His oneness and to behave accordingly then you will be in pain and suffering until you come into accordance. That is a gift from Allah in the same way that pain, signs and symptoms, are gifts for people so they can go to a physician and get well.” | Shaykh Hamza Yūsuf. May all our ailments, physical and spiritual, be cured. Ameen.

Ettiquetes of Zikr

As for its ettiquettes [ādābiha], there are twenty-two. Among them are five which precede the utterance of the remembrance: (1) Repentance [at-tawbah]. That is the slave's abandoning whatever is not meant for him, in word, deed and desire. (2) Complete cleanliness from ritual impurity and filth. (3) Silence and stillness. (4) Seeking the spiritual assistance, from the spiritual will [himma] of the Shaykh, in the heart- when initiating and all the while during it. That is because he is the escort, and the best of escorts in the journey to Allah. And this is one of the most important etiquettes. Even if he calls upon his Shaykh for help with his tongue when he has a need, it is permissible. (5) Knowing that seeking assistance of the Shaykh is in reality seeking the assistance of the Prophet (SWS), since the Presence is One. Among them are twelve while performing remembrance [fī ḥāl adh-Dhikr]: (1) Sitting in a pure place with one's legs folded, or like the sitting in prayer- he latter being preferred. Facing the Qiblah if he is alone, in a circle if not- with them alternating stances, the one who begins sitting like the sitting in prayer and the last with his legs folded. (2) Placing one's hands on one's knees. (3) Perfuming the place of remembrance, the body and the mouth and doing away with bad odors, since the place of remembrance is not free of angels and believing jinn. And they do not approach bad odors. So when they depart from the place of remembrance, the spiritual assistance departs- as is witnessed by spiritual experience. (4) Donning a clean, lawful, perfumed robe. (5) That the place be dark. Even if there is a lamp in it, it should be put out, even if its the only one and being used. This is on the condition that one can. (6) Closing ones eyes, since this assists in illuminating the heart. For by that, one cut off the avenues of the physical senses. And by their being cut off, it opens for him the spiritual senses. (7) Keeping the image of his Shaykh before his eyes, in whatever way he can. And that is the most confirmed of etiquettes. (8) Sincerity. This is equal for the inner and outer (9) Pure devotion. That is that the action should be purified from every blemish. So one should not seek the world, nor the hereafter, reward, nor high status. One should only remember Allah out of love for Allah. (10) That one practice remembrance with a perfect concentration. (11) That the meaning of the remembrance be present in the heart with every utterance. And that one listen, during the remembrance, to his heart, keeping the meaning present, until it is as if one's heart is the rememberer and he is the one listening. (12) Expelling everything from the heart other than Allah, the Exalted, by "Lā ilāha illā Allah," enabling "Lā ilāha illā Allah" to impact the heart and flow to the limbs. And among them are five after finishing the remembrance: (1) Silence and sitting still, keeping the remembrance present by keeping up with it in his heart, taking advantage of what proceeds from the remembrance. For maybe it will furnish him with a profit in the blinking of an eye and he will be provided in a moment what thirty years of struggle would not have provided him with. And this profit could be abstinence, piety, bearing patiently with injury, unveiling, love or more than that. Then, if one is quite and still, the profits will encompass all of his affairs. So it is incumbent upon him to wait as much as is possible. If not, he should leave. (2) Vigilance with respect to Allāh, the Exalted, until it is as if he is directly in front of Him. (3) That he gather all of his senses so that not even a hair on him should move, like the state of the cat when it hunts a mouse. (4) That he restrain himself repeatedly until the benefits encompass all of his affairs. That is because that is the easiest way to illuminate his insight, remove the veils, and to cut off the insinuations of the nafs and Shaytan- since when he restrains himself and hinders his senses, he becomes like the dead person. And Shaytan does not seek out the dead person. (5) Never drinking water following the remembrance, nor during it. That is because remembrance is a fire which brings lights, manifestations, profits, and the longing on account of the instigation of the One remembered. And drinking water puts out every fire. At the very least he should be patient for half an hour. And whoever can wait longer is better, to the point that the sincere one almost does not drink, except under extreme circumstances. - Sīdī Muḥammad Naẓīfī: Foundations of Illumination and Gratification in What Remembrances and Litanies Pertain to the Tijani [Mabādi al-Ishrāq wa al-Isʼād fī mā li at-Tijānī min al-Idhkār wa al-Awrād] translated from the Arabic by Sidi Talut Dawood

Awliya

"The hearts of the awliyā' are not tight, rather they are more broader than the oceans. They say to their students that they are the weakest while others are superior, therefore, seek khayr wherever you may find it." — Shaykh al-Islām Dr Muhammad Tāhir al-Qādirī
